AI & species knowledge
Verdant asks OpenRouter for two things only: a species name when you upload a photo, and a one-time care profile per species (cached, and yours to edit). Everything else runs on plain rules, so costs stay near zero.
Home Assistant
Point Verdant at your Home Assistant and the hourly check switches from species estimates to live sensor readings — and only runs while the sun is up.
Weather
Outdoor plants care about the sky. Point Verdant at your Home Assistant weather entity, or let Open-Meteo cover it — then rain counts as watering, reminders defer when rain is coming, and frost, heat, and wind warnings land as they’re forecast.

Notifications
When a task comes due, a plant needs a closer look, or the weekly review lands, Verdant can nudge you through Home Assistant or an outbound webhook — muted during quiet hours.

Floors
One plan image per floor — replace an image any time; pins keep their spots because positions are stored as proportions. Mark a floor outdoor to run its plants on weather instead of room sensors.

Rooms
Name the rooms on each floor and draw their areas on the plan. Plants dragged inside a drawn area pick up its room automatically, and sensors assigned to a room share their readings with every plant in it.

No rooms on this floor yet.
